Residents have a Continuity Clinic one half-day per week with more frequent sessions beginning in the 2009-2010 academic year. Residents are excused from Continuity Clinic only for MICU, night rotations, off-island electives, and vacation. This rewarding experience allows the residents to develop their own panel of patients with acute and chronic illnesses, whom they follow longitudinally.

Kaiser Permanente Medical Center
Founded in 1945, Kaiser Permanente is the nation’s largest not-for-profit health plan, serving more than 8.6 million members with headquarters in Oakland, California. The Permanente Medical Groups, which provide care for Kaiser Permanente members, continuously develop and refine medical practices to help ensure that care is delivered in the most efficient and effective manner possible. Kaiser Mapunapuna and Honolulu are two of the Continuity Clinic sites. Residents also have subspecialty outpatient electives at Kaiser Moanalua.

Queen Emma Clinics
The Queen Emma Clinics (QEC) are located at QMC in Honolulu. This clinic is the site for the residency's required Ambulatory block rotation for all residents in each training year. Residents utilize the Adult Medicine clinic and the Medicine Subspecialty clinics which include: Infectious Diseases, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Sports Medicine, Pulmonology, Oncology, HIV, Gynecology, and Psychiatry.
