Academic Half-Day is held every Tuesday from 12:30–4:30 pm at The Queen’s Conference Center and/or the University Tower, Room 618.

During the first two Tuesdays Department of Medicine Grand Rounds are geared toward faculty and residents will have their own separate didactic lecture during the 12:30–1:30 pm time slot. The months that have five weeks, the first three Tuesdays will be DOM GR for the faculty and separate resident lectures.

During the last two Tuesdays, residents are required to join the faculty at Grand Rounds for topics appropriate for both groups. The second session of the Half-Day will be Board Review given by our Chief Medical Residents. Program-wide Board Review, Morbidity and Mortality Conference (M&M), Oncology Case Conference, Clinical Pathological Case Conference (CPC), Simulation training, and Program Director’s meetings are other sessions regularly scheduled during this time. Resident-driven sessions, with format and content designed by Chief Resident Elects, are allocated to involve residents in their own learning. Residents also actively participate in M&Ms and CPCs. Innovative formats by all speakers are encouraged.
